Merry Christmas Affiliate Window

I would like to thank Affiliate Window for running their Christmas Promotion.

There were some great presents being handed out from under the Awin Tree on Xmas Day, including Televisions, Sat Nav, Bikes, Champagne etc. Thanks must also go out to all the merchants who contributed too.

Due to other commitments I was unable to log on until late, so was well down the pecking order, still I picked up a personalised calendar which is better than nothing :)

Shame on anyone who has complained – Affiliate Window didn’t have to offer any prizes at all. If anyone is unhappy with what they are going to receive, donate it to your favourite Charity or offer it to your local hospital as a raffle prize but above all be grateful.

Well done Affiliate Window, Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, may you continue to grow and be in a position to do something similar again in 2008.

Happy er…. Merry um…

Happy er…. Merry um… Well now, what exactly ARE we all supposed to be celebrating?

The baby Santa, born in a reindeer’s stable

The Jesus who turned over the moneylenders’ tables so we could all run up credit card bills to celebrate his birthday?

Is this Christmas? Xmas?

Whatever it is, more people may feel inclined to question convention than ever before. That’s no bad thing.

Oh sod it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Credit must go the the astrologer Jonathan Cainer from whom I plagiarized much of the above :)

  • What a load of rankers

Christmas is almost here and sales are tailing off proportionally, I’m here trying to shake off a cold, what the southern wusses call ‘man flu’ (thats alienated me at the next g2g lol), I’ve done my accounts to try and take my mind off it but that didn’t work so in the quest for something more mind numbing I have taken inspiration from this article Useless SEO bloggers who can’t even rank first for their own name by Patrick at Blogstorm, I have taken a look at my blogroll to see whose UK affiliate marketing blog ranks highest in the Google UK results for their first name (Christian name, fore name, etc).

I am only going to highlight those I have found on page 1 of the serps.

    In reverse order:

    • Nadeem7th out of 133k results.
    • Jess5th out of 475k results.
    • Keith – (couldn’t leave my self out) 4th out of 852k results.
    • Kieron3rd out of 420k results.
    • Jason3rd out of 835k results.

And the winner (no prizes for guessing)

A few others just missed out, Kirsty, Clarke and Lee are all on the 2nd page of the google results, and Dixon manages 2nd place from 596k, not for his blog but for his company Receptional.

Right thats enough of this nonsense I’m off for a lemsip, if I don’t get round to blogging again this year have a really excellent Christmas and New Year.

  • Blog experiment update 3

Unfortunately the buying unique content part of the blog experiment came to an abrupt halt, my contact has been unable to purchase any more articles, hopefully this will only be a temporary situation.

In the mean time just to keep HD Advice ticking over I have published 4 articles, 2 of which are dubious quality, just to keep the site ticking along, hopefully they will pick up the odd sale in the Christmas boom.

    Stats:
Traffic for November was slightly up on October with 1579 uniques viewing 2195 pages and the most popular page getting 1008 visits, 1397 visitors found the site via google, a total of 394 different keyphrases were employed to find the site the most popular getting 351 hits.

    Revenue:
I must admit that at one point I was going to report a lot lower total than last month, as that most popular page mentioned above was pointing to a product only available from 1 source and it was out of stock, luckily further stock arrived on 19th November and by the end of the month the revenue had recovered to £140.48.

Total revenue now stands at £238.32.

I an not sure if the buying content part of the experiment will resume at any point, however if it does, or if traffic and revenue for HD Advice continue to grow by my own endeavors, I will post updates from time to time.
