Affiliate marketing can be a very rewarding job, but it also can at times be very frustrating and for the work from home one man affiliate business its very easy to let a day slip by without doing much in the way of work, motivation can be low which causes a dramatic drop in productivity.

I’m having one of those frustrating days, its half term up here in North Yorkshire (god only knows why its a week earlier than everywhere else), I’ve done the family thing and had a pleasant day out with Linda and the kids however now its time to get some work done, but can I heckers like, there are constant interruptions, and my train of thought is all to hell, is it just me or does every family require a visit from the UN peace keeping force?

I’ve managed to update a couple of codes on the voucher site and now it would be very easy to call it a day, but I won’t and the reason is my Fashion Blog this is a very different proposition to all my other projects as its the only website that I work on in conjunction with somebody else, so you see if I don’t write an article (for tomorrow as I try to keep a day ahead) I’m not only letting myself down I’m also letting down my friend, and that to me is a far worse thing to do.

So if you want to increase productivity find a partner to work with, doesn’t need to be a formal arrangement or a big project just start with one website you want to work on together, an easy way is the way we have gone about it simply set up a blog and agree to write one post each a day, in a year you will have added over 700 articles between you, thats 700 pages of content for the search engines to get their teeth in to.

So an easy way to increase productivity is to start a joint venture with somebody that you don’t want to let down, it gives you a proverbial kick up the ass when motivation is low and I can guarantee that both of you will reap the benefits.

    Buy.at acquired by AOL

In my 2008 affiliate marketing predictions I said:

“Consolidation - there have been an awful lot of new network startups in 2007 some good, some bad, some will simply fade away others will stand the test of time, however I predict some consolidation, very possibly we will see two fairly major networks joining forces.”

Well its not quite what I envisaged but AOL have bought Buy.at for an undisclosed sum, the UK affiliate marketing network will operate as a business unit of AOL subsidiary Advertising.com which in turn is part of AOL’s umbrella advertising services offering Platform A.

The buy.at affiliate network: Press Release

a4uAwards to be held in June.

Yesterday Mathew Wood of affiliates4u.com announced that the affiliate marketing awards ceremony a4uAwards, which were last year held as part of the inaugural a4uExpo, would this year be held as a separate event on the 5th June at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in Central London.
