Affiliate marketing can be a very rewarding job, but it also can at times be very frustrating and for the work from home one man affiliate business its very easy to let a day slip by without doing much in the way of work, motivation can be low which causes a dramatic drop in productivity.
I’m having one of those frustrating days, its half term up here in North Yorkshire (god only knows why its a week earlier than everywhere else), I’ve done the family thing and had a pleasant day out with Linda and the kids however now its time to get some work done, but can I heckers like, there are constant interruptions, and my train of thought is all to hell, is it just me or does every family require a visit from the UN peace keeping force?
I’ve managed to update a couple of codes on the voucher site and now it would be very easy to call it a day, but I won’t and the reason is my Fashion Blog this is a very different proposition to all my other projects as its the only website that I work on in conjunction with somebody else, so you see if I don’t write an article (for tomorrow as I try to keep a day ahead) I’m not only letting myself down I’m also letting down my friend, and that to me is a far worse thing to do.
So if you want to increase productivity find a partner to work with, doesn’t need to be a formal arrangement or a big project just start with one website you want to work on together, an easy way is the way we have gone about it simply set up a blog and agree to write one post each a day, in a year you will have added over 700 articles between you, thats 700 pages of content for the search engines to get their teeth in to.
So an easy way to increase productivity is to start a joint venture with somebody that you don’t want to let down, it gives you a proverbial kick up the ass when motivation is low and I can guarantee that both of you will reap the benefits.

It’s half term here on The Wirral too.
I haven’t got much done today either whilst my two little angels have been around!
Good idea about co-authoring a blog – might try that.
Cheers
John
Also on the Wirral and also have the kids on half term. However .. the wife is at the gym and the kids in the creche!
I agree with what you say about productivity I have highers and lows. I might look into working with someone, I always feel I can’t add much to a partnership, but sharing a blog could work.
Keith sorry for interupting you on saturday by the way hope you got the blog posts done ok
The frost this morning in yorkshire was unbelievable. And that fog yesterday. I love days like these though because it means I can concentrate on the work that needs to be done without fear of interruption.
It would seem that there is a large following for affiliate marketing in the UK.
Keith, read my productivity blog at http://www.didigetthingsdone.com and invest in the GTD Book by David Allen. Don’t need any partners then
Keep up the good work.
My problem is getting things finished. I start a new project really excited and then half way through I get another great idea and it gets neglected. Then the same thing happens again lol.
Interesting and useful post. I think there is a lot to be said for more people from an SEO background working more with people from a creative / copywriting / content-building background as a means of attracting more relevant traffic and traffic in general.

Where did you find the person you partner with?
Fashion blog looks great by the way.
I agree whole heartedly with Eamon. Pairing up an SEO with a copywriter seems like THE method. Good rankings and good content…that’s the magic formula.
