Affiliate marketers go to all types of forums and blogs for research.
They look for problems people need solving.
Once they have the solution to the problem they drop a link to that solution.

They also do a lot of research to find that solution  and in doing so answer questions posted On forums and comment on blogs, I don’t see any problem with that, if it’s not blatant  spam
I would say a link is a good payback for taking part.</description>

		<description>There can be a fine line between self promotion and spam, it often depends on the blogger or forum's policy. I think it is important to enjoy reading blogs and only comment on those posts that really stir you, or where you can really add something useful to the thread. Personally I think forum discussion is way over-rated and simply uses up time I could be using for researching tips and tools or better still, commenting on interesting blogs! ;)</description>
