Heres what the site used to look like Fashion Style You Gets A Makeover

So if you are wanting a new look for your blog you could do a lot worse than to give Dale a shout, examples of his work can be seen at www.Elegantwpthemes.com and themes.rock-kitty.net, he is also available for SEO work too www.searchengine.ltd.uk.

  • Ever wanted to submit your wordpress blog to a reader or blog service or even subscribe to someone elses blog, but felt that too much of it was off topic?

Well with wordpress it is possible to just submit or subscribe to the rss of individual categories.

All you do is navigate to the category you are interested in and add feed after the url.

    For example;

Say on this site you are only interested in the Affiliate Marketing category

    1. navigate to the appropriate category http://www.keithbond.co.uk/category/affiliate-marketing/
    2. Add feed to the end of the url http://www.keithbond.co.uk/category/affiliate-marketing/feed and subscribe in your favourite reader.

Incidentally if anyone has a UK affiliate blog or a blog which is pretty general but does contain one category with an internet marketing / affiliate marketing slant let me know and I will add it to Internet Marketing Blogs which also has of yesterday has a twitter account @AffiliateBlogs which tweets new articles as they are published, this is set to a maximum of 5 per hour so you shouldn’t get over run although at busy times the odd one may slip through the net.

Another service to add the affiliate category of your blog to is the blogs section ofaffiliates4u.com simply click on the My Profile link at the top of the page and navigate to the blogs section and add your blog (or category) feed url.

For sometime now my youngest daughter Samantha who is 6 has been asking, pleading, well practically begging for a website of her own, she has seen her sister and me working away and wanted to get involved, so I asked her what she wanted to do a website about, the answer was “stuff”, what sort of stuff? “er well animals and stuff”, right I said (mainly to get a little peace), during holidays I will sort one out for you, then I promptly forgot about it, lol she never and the nagging got worse and I was also being cajoled by family and friends, so I eventually got round to it and on the 20th December Sammys Little Blog was born.

What she writes about is entirely up to her, she does her own research and original artwork, I have to admit I am very proud of her, and a little misty eyed when she wrote about me.

  • I have spent the last couple of hours spring cleaning (spring is always late in Yorkshire) www.internetmarketingblogs.co.uk

    Internet Marketing Blogs UK

It doesn’t look any prettier but hopefully is a little faster, a major overhaul is long overdue however the guy who wrote the script has gone into hibernation.

In order to speed things up I’ve culled all the rss feeds that were not parsing correctly, I’ve also changed the default view to the last 40 articles rather than 3 days, that way the page doesn’t get inordinately large on the busy days and dwindle to a few posts on the weekend.

I am pleased to be able to say that the Networks and Merchants sections have nicely filled out in recent months.

If you are included in the mix on Internet Marketing Blogs, or simply like what you see, it could do with a bit of link love ;)

Anyone who would like their UK internet marketing related blog included just get in touch, I’m not too hard to get hold of.

Also if anyone would like to sponsor Internet Marketing Blogs UK give me a shout, I’m sure we can come to an arrangement.

5 Ways To Beat Bloggers Block

    Research your existing visitors

I brought up the subject of bloggers block in my last article Wagging The Long Tail For Blogging Ideas and the contents of that piece is a good place to start when your mind has gone blank and you are struggling for ideas. As well as researching how your visitors find your site or blog you can also research what they are looking for after they get there Search Meter is a wordpress plugin that gives a whole stack of info about what your visitors are searching for, this enables you to plan the subject of future blog posts.

    Read everything about your subject

Research your subject constantly, both online and offline, always be on the lookout for something relevant that may form the basis of a future article, newspapers and magazines are an excellent source of material, cut out anything and everything about your subject and keep them in a file that you can delve in to from time to time when looking for inspiration. Sunday newspapers with their mountain of supplements are a particular favorite of mine.

Use Google News as a research tool

Google News is awesome when you are looking for relevant up to date stories to blog about just type in your keyword take golf as an example and you immediately get a list of all the latest news stories, which can be sorted by relevance or date.

Next it is important to ensure you never miss a newsworthy article with blogging potential so scroll down that page of results on google news and click the News Alerts News Alerts link fill in your details and anytime something about your subject is picked up by google you get an email.

If you get an idea write it down

No matter where you are or what you are doing if a spark of an idea comes into your head write it down, ideas are potential articles and articles are potential income. So if you are in the pub and you see or hear something useful get out your notebook and write it down, although I’ve gone all techy now and simply power up word on my shiny new phone.

Don’t blog if you keep losing your train of thought

Finally (for now) don’t try to blog if you are getting constant interruptions, if the kids keep running in and out take a break, if the neighbours are using a pneumatic drill and you can’t drown out the noise even with Led Zeppelin, take a walk, get away from the computer, you are doing yourself no favours by struggling on, 30 minutes or an hour off and you will come back as fresh as a daisy and sail through the work.
