Way back in 1948 Dale Carnegie wrote How to Stop Worrying and Start Living which included Four Good Working Habits That Will Help Prevent Fatigue and Worry and they are timeless excellent advice which will help you to work more efficiently what ever your vocation, they are especially suited to the constantly changing manic world of affiliate marketing.

Good Working Habit No 1 : Clear your desk of all papers except those relating to the immediate problem at hand

I bet your desk is cluttered most of the time I know mine is, but when I really want to get stuck into a task I follow Dale’s advice and move everything except those items related to what I am doing, simply getting rid of all the other distractions helps the job go more smoothly without the constant reminder of a million other things, if the task is a particularly difficult or a bit of a marathon I’ll even go as far closing down Live Messenger and my email client to cut out unwanted interruptions.

Good Working Habit No 2 : Do things in order of importance

I covered prioritising tasks back in May in my article Setting Priorities – Important or Urgent so I’ll not cover old ground again today.

Good Working Habit No 3 : When you face a problem, solve it then and there if you have the facts necessary to make a decision. Don’t keep putting off decisions.

This is essentially an extension of No 2. Grab hold of your problems one at a time and come to a decision, no procrastination, no putting off until tomorrow. The decision may be to do something or to do nothing, it may be to ask for more information but at least it will be a decision and one less thing to worry about.

Good Working Habit No 4 : Learn to organise, deputise and supervise.

Not so easy for the one man band but if you are in the position where you can delegate tasks, do so and use your valuable time for something more important.
