Over the last few days Google have been rolling out a new feature, perform a search when you are logged into your Google account and you get the option to customise the results with “Promote” and “Remove” buttons.

Promoted listings are moved to the top of your search page and removed ones are sent to the bottom of the page.
What implications this is going to have is too early to tell, but with everyone customising their results (well those with google accounts) google are going to take note of whats hot and whats not.
Could it be open to abuse? again too early to tell no doubt the black hats are already on the case.
What do you think of this new feature?

I seriously hope that these rank adjustments are for personal use only. If these personal adjustments meant to have any bearing on the global algorithm then it would be a wonderland for spammers and scammers.
I don’t have access to this yet and I’m pretty darn frustrated!! When is Google going to roll it out 100%?
I wonder if they will use this info to help adjust rankings. Certainly that could be dangerous, but Google is pretty smart…I suspect they have methods for fighting off manipulation.
If it is only for personal use then what is the point? Surely this has to be an experiment to see if users can filter out the useful from the rubbish. Since it is tied to a google account then it should be possible to filter out the spammers and gamers
