In Fraser Edwards recent Discount Codes Podcast in which I was involved along with Joe Connor and Chris Frost we touched on the subject of the Paid On Results Voucher Manager Tool.
It is around three months since POR launched their voucher manager tool, one of the purposes of of me writing this article is to serve as a reminder to merchants and affiliates alike of its existence.
What does it do?
The purpose of the Voucher Manager Tool is for merchants to quickly and easily inform affiliates about discount voucher codes which are available, both generic and exclusive.
The tool also allows affiliates to request exclusive codes from merchants.
Can it be improved?
Undoubtedly, as this is only the first release of the tool several improvement will be made I’m sure, POR have never been the type of company to say “right we’ve done that, lets forget about it”.
A couple of things I’d like to see in future releases are:
Personally I think this tool is a great innovation, however like anything else it will only build up into a useful resource if it is used and kept up to date.

I have used the voucher management system at POR a few times and have never received a reply from any of the merchants.
Hi Mark, when requesting a voucher using the system your asking the Merchant for a exclusive voucher, unfortunately to issue one the Merchant needs to have upgraded their tracking code. At the moment too few have for various reasons. We are actively campaigning with our Merchants to get the upgrade in place so not only can exclusive “protected” voucher codes be issued, but also we can offer performance tracking of vouchers.
Earlier today however the Voucher Manager became more useful. The interface in the Affiliate Control Panel was updated to include your Affiliate URL for the Merchant, so one less click to make, plus our Voucher Alert system kicked off today. When vouchers are added by Merchants, emails will be sent to all subscribed Affiliates (if you are already an Affiliate with the Merchant or not), the email contains everything you need to get on with the business of promoting the voucher (including Affiliate URL for the Merchant if you are an existing Affiliate). The first one went out today. Merchants can add generic vouchers with or without updating their tracking code, so that is open to all.
We also are looking at sending alert emails when a voucher expires, as that is just as important as when new ones are added. More improvements will be made to the interface in the Affiliate Control Panel. An API is also planned, this is something will be look at consulting with Affiliates on so we develop a useful system for you guys.
