Christmas is almost here and sales are tailing off proportionally, I’m here trying to shake off a cold, what the southern wusses call ‘man flu’ (thats alienated me at the next g2g lol), I’ve done my accounts to try and take my mind off it but that didn’t work so in the quest for something more mind numbing I have taken inspiration from this article Useless SEO bloggers who can’t even rank first for their own name by Patrick at Blogstorm, I have taken a look at my blogroll to see whose UK affiliate marketing blog ranks highest in the Google UK results for their first name (Christian name, fore name, etc).
I am only going to highlight those I have found on page 1 of the serps.
In reverse order:
- Nadeem - 7th out of 133k results.
- Jess - 5th out of 475k results.
- Keith - (couldn’t leave my self out) 4th out of 852k results.
- Kieron - 3rd out of 420k results.
- Jason - 3rd out of 835k results.
And the winner (no prizes for guessing)
A few others just missed out, Kirsty, Clarke and Lee are all on the 2nd page of the google results, and Dixon manages 2nd place from 596k, not for his blog but for his company Receptional.
Right thats enough of this nonsense I’m off for a lemsip, if I don’t get round to blogging again this year have a really excellent Christmas and New Year.

I can’t believe you’ve managed to get to number for in Google for ‘Keith’! One amazing achievement - well done.
Not really a fair comparison: it’s a lot easier for me to get ranked number 7 in Google for ‘Nadeem’ as it’s not as common a name as the others. Hats off to everyone else for their super acheivements - and Merry Crimbo to everyone.
BTW, your comment about “man flu” made me laugh.
I do agree the southerners are softies: my northern mates who do manual jobs go into work everyday no matter who they are feeling to do tough physical jobs, while so many of southern friends with nice office jobs take a week off work every winter to lie in bed ‘cos of “man flu” (but network staff get paid for their time off, unlike us lot :))
Ha ha… I blame Kirsty McColl, it’s all her fault. Interestingly, I’ve just checked and I am now on the first page of results at number 9. Course, Google seems to change with the slightest breeze these days, but perhaps the link from your blog has made all the difference?!
Happy Christmas Keith
Cruel! I’m beaten by some kind of electronics shop called “Dixons” for number 1 :(. Ah well.
